Progressive drawing die As a die forms a shape from a flat sheet of metal, there is a need for the material to move into the shape of the die. The flow of material is controlled through pressure
applied to the blank and lubrication applied to the die or the blank. If the form moves too easily, wrinkles will occur in the part. To correct this, more pressure or less lubrication is applied to the blank to limit the flow of material and cause the material to stretch or thin. If too much pressure is applied, the part will become too thin and break.

Drawing metal is the science of finding the correct balance between wrinkles and breaking to achieve a successful part.

 

As a general rule, 3 times of metal thickness can be used for a start point. If the part shows evidence of cracked, the tool has been machined metal safe, thus allowing for additional radius. The part specification may require a small radius under the flange that may be achieved with one draw, as opposed to several draws to size the radius.

How to start a new mould business?

1. Quote According to samples/picture/design, 2/3 D drawing and specification
 
2. Discussion Mould core/base material, cavity number, runner type, price, payment, etc
 
3. PI Approval for all terms
 
4. Deposit 50% by T/T
 
5. Product Design Our engineer will check product drawing, and pick up the unreasonable terms
 
6. Mould Design Our engineer will do DFM and send PPT to customers for approval
 
7. Mould making We start to make mould after customers confirmed the drawing
 
8. Mold Testing We will express trial samples to customers by DHL for confirmation
 
9. Mould repair We will modify the mould according to customer’s feedback
 ↓  
10. Mould approval Express trial samples by DHL again till products approval
 
11. Balance payment 50% by T/T before delivery
 
12. Delivery Delivery by sea or air, all documents as customer required

Q: Can you make all the dimensions are according to our design/samples?
---- We can guarantee that all the dimensions are made according to your drawing/sample.Please notice that dimension tolerence we can do is +/-0.003mm.

Q: Did the stamping die suit for my press machine?
--- The stamping die is made according to your press machine’s specification.Before start making die parts,we will send the design for your approval.
